FUTURE TALK: CLIMATE X CHANGE
Wind power & energy transition
Wind energy is one of the cleanest and most environmentally friendly power generation technologies and therefore makes an important contribution to solving the climate and energy crisis. Austria wants to generate 100 per cent of its electricity from renewable energies by 2030 and be greenhouse gas neutral by 2040. This requires a comprehensive expansion of wind power, but the expansion is lagging behind the target. What is needed to accelerate the expansion of wind power? What about social acceptance of wind turbines in society? And how can the balancing act between radical progress in the energy transition and nature conservation and the promotion of biodiversity be achieved?
As part of the exhibition When the Wind Blows, experts from the fields of art, science and activism will discuss the topic and report on their approaches and visions.
