Workshop: Forest in the Sky

With Artist Alex Franz Zehetbauer

Forest in the sky is a workshop inspired by the unique ship-like apartment on the top floor of the KunstHausWien. Participants will be taken on a voyage of diverse artistic practices that playfully explore both the inside and outside spaces of this home. From the miniature roof top forest to the kitchen to the bathtub, each space will offer its own softly thrilling adventure. Possible titles of practices could be: fake foraging improvisation, underwater exhale mediation, reading on the couch, operatic gossiping in the kitchen. A snack and refreshment will also be served in this workshop, which the participants will make together.

Biography
Alex Franz Zehetbauer (born 1990 in Brooklyn) is a sound choreographer, performance artist and singer. He studied at the Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and at the International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam. He was awarded the BKA Startstipendium for Music and Performing Arts (2018) and the danceWEB Scholarship (2019). Recent works include the concert performance Brunnentroll (2021) in public fountains, supported by KÖR - Kunst im Öffentlichen Raum, wet dreaming at 52Hz (2019), AyH (2021/2023) and hearing the wild heart (2022) as a co-production with brut Wien. Since 2022 he has been part of Freischwimmen, an international production platform for performance and theatre.
