Dark and colourful advent - browse and marvel

at the Museum Shop & Café Friedlich

On 7 and 8 December, the KunstHausWien shop and museum café will be transformed into a dark and colourful Advent atmosphere that enchants all the senses. On the second weekend of Advent, we invite you to experience the Christmas spirit in a different way - inspired by the philosophy of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who saw art and ecology as an inseparable unity. There is much to discover, from creative knitting and origami stations to sustainable gift ideas.

Advent browsing in the museum shop
Advent browsing at KunstHausWien is a feast for creative gift-giving! From folding sustainable Christmas trees out of old exhibition posters to discovering surprise bags full of little treasures, there are inspiring ideas for everyone looking for that special gift. Last minute gifts such as art books, natural products and Hundertwasser souvenirs are also waiting to be discovered.
Particularly popular: the 2025 Annual Pass package with an art book or organic stinging nettle tea - a gift that will bring joy all year round.

Knitting Café at Friedlich
Make yourself comfortable at Café Friedlich and knit your own creations in a relaxed atmosphere. A knitting expert from Gerti's Nähstube will be on hand to show you the tricks of the trade. Especially for this workshop, we offer high quality 'Hundertwasser wool' - inspired by the artist's vibrant colours and patterns. If you like it, you can buy the wool in the museum shop and continue knitting at home.
