The 2011 Fukushima reactor disaster shook the global public. Today we are again discussing the expansion of nuclear energy. The reason is climate change and die thesis that nuclear energy could save the world from climate collapse. The fear of climate collapse has replaced the fear of nuclear power. A decision is still pending in Brussels today in connection with the “New Green Deal”. Can nuclear energy be used to protect the climate and should it be promoted?

In the exhibition Tree and Soil, the two artists Antoinette de Jong & Robert Knoth stage Fukushima as an archetypal expulsion from paradise. The KUNST HAUS WIEN invites experts from art, science and politics to discuss.
