Interaktiv Tour: Fantastic working environments
INTERAKTIVE TOUR: Mika Rottenberg. Antimatter Factory
What is capitalism? What is the definition of work? How do global supply chains work? These and other important questions are explored in the tour of Mika Rottenberg's exhibition.
In her exhibition Antimatter Factory, the artist creates whimsical fantasy worlds that leave plenty of room for independent discovery and reflection. Her artworks offer deep insights into different working environments, such as a pearl farm, a Chinese wholesale market for cheap goods or the production of ready meals. She reveals the grotesque mechanisms of global supply chains, industrial production and profit-driven labour.
Together with an art mediator, Mika Rottenberg's works are interactively explored and placed in relation to one's own actions. The humorous video works, kinetic sculptures and installations offer an exciting introduction to questioning the connections between personal choices and global processes, and to gaining new perspectives on our world.
