When The Wind Blows - Catalogue

Air, wind and breath in contemporary art

When the wind blows

Wind moves - the things that get caught in the wind as well as the thoughts of people who at all times tried to capture the phenomenon in words and in pictures.

The book Wenn der Wind weht / When the Wind Blows is published to accompany the exhibition of the same name at KUNST HAUS WIEN, in cooperation with the University of Applied Arts Vienna. It presents more than twenty artistic positions that make the invisible elements of air, wind and breath visible in different ways. Ernst Strouhal traces (cultural) stories of the wind in his text "Der fliegende Robert und die Seinen", while the curators Verena Kaspar-Eisert and Liddy Scheffknecht examine air and air as a medium in contemporary art.
