Horst Janssen

Excessive, feared, abusive and always torn between overflowing joie de vivre and despair, that is what one remembers about the artist Horst Janssen (1929 – 1995), when viewing his drawings and graphics.

A comprehensive exhibition is now devoted to this „excessive genius“, a very spezial artist of spezial rank. The KunstHausWien presents the first large exhibition of his œvre – 170 works – in Vienna since 1982 (Graphische Sammlung Albertina).
