Karl Schmidt-Rottluff
The exhibition presents 180 paintings, watercolours, drawings, graphics and sculptures from the collection of the Brücke-Museum, Berlin. Some of the works have never been shown in public before.
Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884 – 1976), born in Chemnitz, Bavaria is one of the great German Expressionists. In he was one of the founding members of the group of Dresden artists who called themselves „Die Brücke“. He is regarded as a pioneer of modern art in Germany.
