A Space. An Endangered Form of Life.
The loss of biodiversity is the focus of a new installation forming part of the series “realLimited” by the designer duo mischer’traxler.
As part of their exhibition at the Garage of the KUNST HAUS WIEN, they present an artificial light object which represents the total population of the moth species “Cucullia tanaceti”, which is threatened with extinction: 1,219 numbered moths made of metal represent all the moths of this species still living in Austria. The installation illustrates real limitations and tries to make abstract numbers tangible.
